Heartwood Preserve Groundbreaking

David Meyer was recently invited to speak at the groundbreaking ceremony for our Heartwood Preserve project.  Joining David on stage were the mayor of Omaha and the CEO of Applied Underwriters, the sponsor of the 500-acre development. As executive landscape architect, MSLA was commissioned to design the new headquarters for Applied Underwriters, a public park and a series of landscape promenades that connect the parklands to the surrounding community, integrating nature with urban living. David spoke of the landscape open spaces, currently under construction, that include a purposeful progression of sculpted storm water basins.  The basins will display and cleanse massive amounts of water, mitigate flooding and transform the dramatic storms of the mid-west into unique seasonal water features.
