Foothill College is Featured In 'Landscape and the Academy'

Our design of California’s Foothill College in Los Altos is featured in the recently published Landscape and the Academy, written by Gina Crandall and edited by John Beardsley and Daniel Bluestone.  According to the editors, MSLA was selected for its “reputation for crisp, bold design and excellent construction detailing, received the commission in 2007”. Winner of an ASLA-NCC Honor Award in 2014, our design honored the legacy of American community colleges, and reinvigorated the original plan by Peter Walker/SWA with contemporary elements. Foothill College is a cherished project in our office.  In the process of designing the landscape we walked the site with Peter Walker and listened to him discuss the origins of the unique site planning concepts.  MSLA has been working on the project for several years and are honored to receive recognition for our efforts. — Our design of California’s Foothill College in Los Altos is featured in the recently published Landscape and the Academy, written by Gina Crandall and edited by John Beardsley and Daniel Bluestone.
